ROLLING SUBMISSIONS for the Joint Issue published by the American University Business Law Review: OPEN UNTIL AUGUST 31, 2024 at 11:59 PM

The American University Business Law Review (“AUBLR”), the premier law review in Washington, D.C. dedicated solely to business issues, and the Intellectual Property Brief (the “IP Brief”), representing the publication arm of WCL’s nationally ranked #8 IP Law Program, are joining forces to publish a collaborative issue. This joint publication aims to showcase cutting-edge research at the intersection of business law and intellectual property. The target publication date is slated for mid-2025.

Technical Parameters (For the Collaborative Issue ONLY)

  1. LENGTH: We strongly prefer manuscripts over 15,000 words in length, including footnotes.
  2. FORMAT: Text and citations should preferably conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020). Manuscripts must use footnotes, as opposed to endnotes.
  3. AUTHORSHIP: AUBLR welcomes submissions from professors, judges, and practitioners. We are not currently accepting student submissions.

  • Each year, the brief attracts scholars and practitioners to submit pieces for publication and to speak on hot issues through its annual symposia.

ROLLING SUBMISSIONS for the IP Brief’s FALL 2024 Issue: OPEN UNTIL SEPTEMBER 9, 2024 at 11:59 PM

Preferred Fall 2024 Submissions: articles primarily focusing on Patent, Copyright, and Trademark related issues.

The IP Brief always accepts submissions of articles that address a legal topic relating to any area of intellectual property. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the IP Brief will publish twice: once in the Fall and once in the Spring.

The technical parameters are:

  1. LENGTH: Preferred maximum between 15-20 pages, 1.5 spaced, 12 pt Times New Roman font, and 1” margins.
  2. FORMAT: Text and citations should preferably conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020). Manuscripts must use footnotes, as opposed to endnotes.
  3. AUTHORSHIP: The IP Brief welcomes submissions from professors, judges, practitioners, and students.
